Logging into D2L Brightspace, Zoom, Kaltura Mediaspace
On August 9-10, 2025, the authentication method for Brightspace, Zoom, and Kaltura will be transitioning to Microsoft 365 authentication (Entra ID). These changes aim to streamline access to educational tools and resources, ensuring a more efficient and secure environment.
As of Saturday, August 9th you will need to log into D2l Brightspace, Zoom, and Kaltura Mediaspace using the following format as username:
For Students: STARID@go.minnstate.edu
For Employees: STARID@minnstate.edu
Your password will remain the same.
When you sign into D2L Brightspace, Zoom, or Kaltura, you will see a new authentication screen:

This is where you’ll enter your username from above.
Then click the Next button and proceed to log in with your password.
You will then need to complete the Multi-Factor Authentication – either a text code or a push message to your Microsoft Authenticator app, depending on what you had previously set up.

Changes to the Course navigation bar in D2L
As of August 4th , a simplified course navigation was introduced. The revised navigation bar displays the most frequently used tools by students and faculty members across the colleges and universities of Minnesota State. All other, less frequently used, tools will be available under the heading, Other Tools. Links to campus-specific course-level support resources will be available under the heading, Resources. Finally, for those enrolled as an instructor of the course, the heading Course Tools will provide direct links to the most used tools under the Course Administration page.
The simplified navbar will look like the following:
