For additional meeting security, consider setting up a Zoom waiting room, or using a meeting passcode. This helps to ensure only your intended students can enter the meeting.
Step 2: Post the Zoom link on your D2L page
Posting the Zoom link and sharing your class attendance expectations in D2L as an “Announcement” is a good way to ensure students are informed.
In addition to posting the information at the top of your D2L page, instructors can also select “send email copy” which will also send the announcements to students’ school email addresses.
If you plan to be teaching in a traditional classroom, the CTL has full guides on using our Crestron AV systems. The system has the option for you to display both “instructor view” and “student view” to the students joining you by Zoom meeting.
If you are in a nontraditional classroom setting, both schools have OWL cameras available for faculty. The OWL camera has many possible settings, but the major feature is that it can follow instructor from place to place around the classroom.
If your classroom does not have an OWL camera, but you are interested in using one, please contact a member of the Center for Teaching and Learning (chad.anderson@dctc.edu or maggie.laurel@inverhills.edu)
