Tech Tip: Student Assistance with D2L Brightspace and Learning Technology

The purpose of this week’s tip is to introduce Maggie Laurel, our new staff member in the Center for Teaching and Learning.  As the Learning Technology Support Specialist, Maggie supports students with D2L and campus technology use.  She is housed at both IHCC and DCTC.

Services provided:  

  • One-on-one student technology support sessions 
  • Facilitation of student group orientation sessions to prepare them to use campus technology 
  • In-class visits to educate students on D2L navigation and academic technology
  • Reviews D2L Brightspace courses from a student’s perspective and offers feedback

 Maggie created the Student Technology Resource page where students can find various instructional support materials on:

  • Microsoft 365 Suite Tools
  • Zoom
  • Other Academic Technology
