Adjusting Font Color Within D2L Brightspace

This tech tip demonstrates how to make sure the color of your text is accessible for all who use D2L Brightspace including those have vision issues. This is a part of Universal Design for Learning (UDL).

1. Click the accessibility checker icon on the HTML toolbar:

2. You will see the following indicating where the error is:

3. Highlight the text and click the Select Color icon on the HTML toolbar:

4. Choose your color then adjust the contrast until both checkmarks are green.
Before adjusting the color contrast:

Red X's before ajusting the color contrast

After adjusting the color contrast:

Green Checkmarks after ajusting the color contrast

You can keep adjusting the color contrast as long as the checkmarks stay green.
5. Click the Save button within the Select a Color box:
