This long awaited, and commonly asked for, feature is finally here for D2L Brightspace! You can now take your entire course site within D2L Brightspace and easily copy it over to another institution without having to download, re-upload, or lose any features within your course site. Now we can directly copy your course materials from Inver to DCTC, over to Metro State, or any other MinnState College or University.
Process:
Simply fill out a JIRA ticket and make sure to include the following information:
- The URL or link to the course site you are copying from (source)
- To get this, simply login to D2L Brightspace and go to the homepage of the course. Then copy the link from the URL box within your browser.
- The URL or link you are copying the materials into (destination)
Unlike the regular Import / Export / Copy Components tool within D2L Brightspace, this process is not immediate and must take all the materials in the course site (No Select Components option). This happens from an automated process that happens overnight. Small price to pay to make it easier and better to copy everything!
